WIND.... WINDY.... What is up in the Desert?

Ed and I left Amador county about 8:00 am Saturday morning.  We drove up Highway 88 to hit Hwy 395 just to have a different experience on the way down here to the desert.  We took a detour to June Lake to see the campground we will be staying in July,  Still snow on the ground and the owner was very helpful with information and starting the clean up to get the camp ready.  It was a long 14 hour day and chose to drive straight through.  Needless to say we were dang tired when we got here...

Sunday April 18th was our anniversary and we had a quiet day, went to dinner at Ruth's Chris Steakhouse  which is one of our favorite restaurants.  It was a gorgeous day in the desert, soon to change.  Monday was a very nice day also, we shopped for a few things we needed down here, one being a deck box.  Some Assembly required is not one of Ed's favorite things to do.  He can break down and fix computers, tear down bulldozers, tractors etc, but when he see's Some Assembly Required, it is like a bull seeing red.  Tuesday the WIND HIT!!  Good grief it was so bad I thought we were going to wake up in Kansas.  At least we got two days at the pool before the winds hit.  I can stay pretty busy down here but when the weather gets icky, Ed gets antsy.

The weather is supose to improve Friday afternoon, Saturday and Sunday.  We will be heading home probably Monday or Tuesday.  The forcast for Amador county on Tuesday is rain... wouldn't ya know it!!!
More later if anything exciting happens............

April Adventures and Easter Sunday

Greetings, I am going to try and make an entry even when we are not traveling. Since we have been home, been pretty busy around here. Ed is getting most of the weed spraying done and fortunately able to use the tow behind sprayer on some parts of the property. He still has Napa to do and we will get back up there before we head back to Indio. His shoulder is so much better, he says he is about at 80% and is taking it easy.
My big adventure is backing my car into a ditch. I was going over to check on the guys cutting up trees to see if they would like lunch. The trucks were blocking the road as they already loaded up wood, so not a problem, I will just back up the gravel road and catch them on the main road. Knowing there is a huge ditch on one side of the road, I sort of hugged the other NOT realizing there was one huge ditch there.... backing into a ditch is really not the easiest thing to do and really a jolt. With one wheel in the ditch, one wheel just barely hanging on and two wheels in the air...the decision was climb up and out, or take a chance getting out the driver's side and hope to hell the dang thing does not move. I chose the second option and ran like heck up the hill. Getting the attention of the guys, and not that I was a wee bit upset, Ed thought I rolled the car all the way down from the house and relieved it was just in a ditch.. With the tractor and skill he pulled the car out and the amazing thing is, there was absolutely no damage.

Easter Sunday was wet and windy. We celebrated at my niece Stacey and husband Dave's home in Vacaville. Despite the nasty weather we had a great time visiting with family. The weather did not permit an Easter egg hunt for the three little ones, Riley, Rian and Gabe, but they were entertained by Katie and her guitar. Little Gabe is such a cutie, he is quite the young man. Sarah and DJ are up to something, they are planning a road trip. Brother Tom is thinking about retiring, it is about time. Older brother Frank and Joyce did not make the trip, they missed a great gathering. A big thank you to Stacey and Dave for their hospitality and a great day.

We are off to Napa this week to get what work can be done there, visit with some friends. A few appointments and Sarah's 19th birthday on April 16th, then we are off to Indio. I am hoping the weather down there is much better than here, it is almost like Winter has set in again.

Until next time.............
