Three Weeks In Indio

Greetings, again I have been slacking off the blog. I am going to try and recapture three weeks here in Indio on this trip. Ed and I arrived in the desert on February 22nd. Ed had injured his shoulder the week before and we were debating to make the trip or not. Once we got here it was apparent Ed was going to have to seek medical help. We were referred to a doctor then could not find him since his office burned, after some assistance from other medical offices we had an appt. Ed liked the doctor which is a good thing, I guess when the pain is bad enough one does things one would normally NOT do. Ed agreed to some painful shots in the shoulder, then on for MRI. Diagnosis is there is damage but surgery not needed at this time. He is going to check with his doctor in Napa when we get home. He is frustrated that he cannot do the things he normally can but time will heal.

Rosie and Mike came into town and we spent a couple of days together. Rosie and I went shopping and for all the gals that have shopped with Rosie... YES!!!! She made several purchases, even Mike was happy about that, sort of strange for a husband to react that way LOL, but he was pleased she found some things she liked. While we shopped Mike played the golf course here at MCC and Ed aka PC (Pin Cushion) played caddy. I wish I had pictures of THAT!!! Another thing we found out about Rosie, she is a heck of a good pool player. Gals challenged the guys and beat them 3 out of 3 I believe. I even made some decent shots with coaching from Rosie. We also went down to The Thursday Night Market in Palm Springs, a very lucky evening, Rosie and I found some cash on the street, woohooo... we visited the booths in the street fair then had a nice dinner. It was an interesting evening but really had a lot of fun. Mike and Rosie left the next day for Hemet and golf.... but they returned a week later...........

The second week we were here, George, Bev and Max arrived for two weeks. They were able to get a spot next to Gary and Sue around the corner which was very nice. George was a trooper and took Ed to the MRI appointment which was at night, thanks again George. Bev, Sue and I hit the ground shopping, some very nice purchases were made and able to visit some of the neat stores down here. Gary and Sue hosted two amazing BBQ's. Gary cooked rack of lamb that was outstanding, good company with neighbor's of Gary and Sue... Gene, JoAnn and Kate. Great conversation and lots of laughs. The next feast Gary prepared was a turkey cooked on the Big Green Egg. Very very good, again with good people, great conversation and of course laughter. Thanks to Sue and Gary for hosting as we do not have our furniture in yet and they have such a lovely place. We went to a local Casino for a late lunch one day and of course did a bit of playing.

Butch and Betty arrived in Indio intending to stay one day however we talked them into staying a few more days. Rosie and Mike came back to Indio since there was more snow in the mountains and why go home? We had dinner at the Elks Club one evening, played cards in the card room, gals did a bit more shopping and Butch and Mike of course hit the golf course. Lunch at the restaurant here at MCC, just good times with good friends. Mike and Rosie are home now and Butch and Betty are on the way home. Bev, George and Max left this morning and should be home tomorrow.

We are heading home Tuesday or Wednesday. I hate to leave now since the weather finally is cooperating and very nice. Ed and I were able to be at the pool the last two days and did a bit of bike riding. Ed decided not to ride for a while since it irritated his shoulder. The "season" is coming to an end in the desert and when we return several of our friends will be on their way home. Hopefully next year we will be able to spend more time here...

Something went wrong with Ed's camera, so I do not have pictures at this time. Rosie took many and I have requested a few to add to the blog. I will post when I get them and Ed may be able to fix the camera and retrieve pictures when we get home.

So until next time...............
