DAY 10 DAY AT SOUTHFORK HOME OF DALLAS

DAY 10 DAY AT SOUTHFORK HOME OF DALLAS

First of all, I want to wish my wonderful husband HAPPY ANNIVERSARY, love you a whole lot.

Ed and I have been Dallas fans for years. We have the entire 14 years and currently on season 13. The new Dallas starts in June and we will be sure to tune in. Ed has always wanted to visit Southfork, in fact he would love to buy Southfork Ranch. It is not for sale… Anyway it is a 360 acre ranch and at one time raised very expensive Quarter horses that sold for over a million dollars. It is now a tourist attraction; some live stock on there but not a working ranch anymore. Most of the filming of Dallas was the exterior of the ranch. There are a few similarities of the interior of the house but most of that was filmed in California. Was a very interesting tour for us, we really enjoyed all the memorabilia. We did a bit of shopping of course and this time it was ED doing the shopping. Years ago I sort of disposed of his poor worn out cowboy hat that got way to small for him. He was devastated so bought himself a brand new cowboy hat. Actually it sort of looks a bit like his old one!! He also bought a jacket, shirt, two license plates. He also bought me two hats, I could not decide between the black one or white one. Robert and Carol also made a few purchases, well come to think of it, Robert did not get anything but Carol found a beautiful jacket and white hat. Hmmmm we are gonna have to make it up to Robert. Needless to say, we had a great time, laughed a lot and now have Robert and Carol hooked on watching the series.

We have had a great time here at Robert and Carol’s beautiful home. It is so pretty and peaceful here. Robert and Carol have been so gracious taking us all over during our time here, thank goodness for that because the drive through Dallas would have been brutal in the Smart Car… They are truly good friends and awesome company, thank you both so much for an amazing time. We are going to miss you until we see you in the Fall.

Tomorrow we will leave and head WEST. We have enjoyed our time in Texas except for some of the weather, we are so glad we made this trip. Our first stop will be Big Springs Texas and stay at the Whipin RV Park. We have had some laughs over that particular RV park name…
