It is HOT in the Desert!

Greetings from Hot Indio.  We drove to Tehachapi on Sunday stayed the night and then on to Indio on Monday.  You just don't go the ten hours in a SmartCar unless you have to.  The weather was warm but pleasant the first two days, even had a cool breeze at night, THAT has changed, close to 100 degrees during the day and NO breeze at night.  The high today is to be 104 and 110 on Saturday.  OUCH!!!  There may be four other sites with people in the resort, very quiet you would think but before 7:00 am the other morning there is hammering going on across the way!!! So much for sleeping in.

Stan, Patti and Patti's sister Dean and husband stopped by to  visit on Tuesday, which happened to be Stan's birthday.  Had a nice visit and they left Thursday for home so only had the heat a day or two.  They were staying at their time share in Indian Wells.

Ed and I have spent everyday at the pool for a few hours, the water is wonderful and only had one other fella come to use the pool.  We only rode the bikes once, just too hot for me anyway.   Had dinner out almost every night.  Last night we went to the casino, still trying to get tickets for Reba tonight but none to be found.  We had dinner and played a wee bit and I came out about $300.00 ahead. I like it when I win!!!  Ed played his $20.00 and that was it.

We are off to do errands today and get food for next week at Three Rivers, go to the pool for a while, just enjoy the last two days here.  We will go to Bakersfield on Sunday then  to Three Rivers on Monday to meet up with the RV group.  I am really looking forward to this trip, I have always wanted to see Sequoia National Park and Kings Canyon.  Looking forward to spending time with our great group and of course eat and drink and eat and well what we do best...

Until next time, safe travels to those out on the road............
