St. George, Utah, September 27, 2011

Our last full day here in St. George. We were finally able to open windows last night for a cool breeze, rather than run the air conditioner. It is still quite warm here today about 86 degrees.

The golfers, Ed M., Carol, Steve, Butch, Tom and Jeff were off to the golf course this morning. They played at Sunbrook, I am assuming 18 holes by how tired they looked when they got back. Butch said it was a nice course and he played an 82 I think… He said that was good…. See if I get anymore scores later.

Ed and George visited Snow Canyon. A lot more steep cliff rocks and lava rock eruptions also. They saw a bobcat. After they hiked up a steep road they found out they could have driven up there. They recommend a visit there also if in this area.

Gail stayed back at camp doing domestic chores. Bev R. took Vinnie to get groomed. He looks so cute but if I were Vinnie, I would protest the blue ribbons… Still cute tho!!! Sue, Betty, Bev and Maureen checked out our favorite stores, Dillards, Chico’s and Coldwater Creek.. A few bargains were found.

Ed, George, Betty and I went to visit the St George Temple. We had a bit of a tour but I really wanted to see the Temple and was told we were not allowed to. This I did not know, I would think any House of God would welcome visitors but evidently the Latter Days of Saints are very strict on this policy. The tour was interesting but getting quite long so we had to leave early to get back to get ready to go see the play Grease tonight.

We went to the Tuacahn Amphitheater to see the play Grease. We also had dinner at the theater which was very good. There were hamburgers, French fries, onion rings, BBQ chicken veggies, salad bar and dessert, lemonade or water… We are in a dry State. They theme the meals to the plays which is fun. This theater is amazing; it is a part of Tuacahn High School. Gorgeous grounds and the backdrop is all natural rock. Have never seen anything like this anywhere else. The play was entertaining but it was a late night for us all. Hehe most of us are in bed by the time the play let out. Thank you George and Bev for setting this up for us, it was really neat.

On our trips with Butch and Betty it got to be a joke, probably annoying to Butch but hey what the heck…. I would ask what time we are leaving… for anything on the trip, well now I am just going to ask Butch… Where is Gracie?????

We will be leaving for Page Arizona tomorrow, not sure if we will have a connection but I will try and do brief updates from the Ipad until we are connected again, so if you don’t hear from us for a few days… we will be back.

Until next time……….
