St. George Utah, Zion Park… September 26, 2011

A gorgeous day here in St. George Utah. It amazes me whenever we visit new territory, just how beautiful our country is. Was a bit cooler this morning, clouds in the sky and these gorgeous mountains makes a perfect backdrop.

About 10:00 am, Butch Betty, Ed M., Carol, Tom, Bev, Ed and I headed to Zion National Park. What an awesome day, it was not really too hot a bit of breeze now and then. We parked and took the tour bus as there are no vehicles allowed to drive through the park. We passed the Virgin River and the mountains were spectacular.  We took a hike up at Temple of Sinawava.  Once we got to the river, you could see the canyon. Some folks hike further up by walking in the river.  Our group decided we were not prepared take on that task.  Hiked back to the bus and went to Zion Lodge for a bite to eat.  Just a very pleasant day.

George, Bev, Gail, Jeff, Sue and Steve ventured to other parts of St. George. The plan for the evening was a pot luck cook out… Ed and I passed since there was a Cracker Barrel just down the street. One of our favorite restaurants and try to hit one when we see one since they are not in California and never will be. Their reasoning is California is not a business friendly State… Maybe someday California will figure it out… … The guys are enjoying an evening outside talking and I think most of the women are inside watching TV tonight.. Hoping we get to a place where we can have a campfire and Butch has his guitar so maybe a little singing.

Tomorrow is a free day, some are golfing, some are shopping (does that surprise anyone) and in the afternoon tour around before we go see the play Grease…….

So until next time…..
